Theresa Babeu

NORTH ADAMS -- Theresa DeMarco Babeu, 101, of 47 Tyler St. died yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she had been admitted Saturday.

Born in North Adams on Oct. 28, 1898, daughter of Paul and Rose Siciliano DeMarco, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Babeu was first employed by the former Union Mill.

During World War II, she was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. on Brown Street. She also worked at the former Gale Shoe Co. and most recently in the linen department of North Adams Regional Hospital.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Her husband, George Louis Babeu, whom she married Oct. 9, 1922, died Feb. 7, 1984.

She leaves two daughters, Constance Oliver of Harbor Springs, Mich., and Melbourne, Fla., and Florence Gimlewicz of Pittsfield; two sons, Louis G. Babeu of North Adams and the Rev. Raymond F. Babeu of North Adams; a sister, Elizabeth Paquin of North Adams; two brothers, Theodore DeMarco of Bennington, Vt., and Louis DeMarco of North Adams; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. A daughter, Regina Rose Babeu, died Jan. 4, 1930.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The Funeral for Theresa Babeu will be Friday at 8:30 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A daughter, Regina Rose Babeu, died Jan. 4, 1930. Three grandchildren are deceased including Louis Babeu, Mark Babeu and Keith Babeu. Three sisters and five brothers are deceased including Mary Folino, Rita Abuisi, Irene DeMarco, Paul DeMarco, John DeMarco, Angelo DeMarco, Lawrence DeMarco and Thomas DeMarco
